Sid the Science Kid (2 DVDS) & Dive Olly Dive DVD Review & Giveaway!

When EC wakes up in the morning I let him snuggle up on the couch and watch his cartoons for a bit. So I'm always on the look out for educational yet entertaining shows.

I recently got the opportunity to review one of the top new shows for kids to premier this past year: "Sid the Science Kid." It's an Emmy nominated PBS series that is produced by The Jim Henson Company and KCET-LA. They sent me both DVDs titled "Change Happens" and "The Bug Club." Each DVD contains four episodes from the TV show!!!

Also included for us to review was a brand new DVD from "Dive Olly Dive." This is a Emmy-nominated, 3D-animated underwater series that airs on PBS Sprout.

Here is some information on "Sid the Science Kid: Change Happens" and "Sid the Science Kid: The Bug Club:" "Featuring the delightfully inquisitive Sid the Science Kid and his precocious pals, both DVDs celebrate and explore the great outdoors, tackling such questions as why bees live in hives and ants live in anthills, and observing such phenomena as how the heat from the sun can change matter."

EC has never seen these cartoons, but I have heard of them. I was pleasantly surprised!!! Because he is obsessed with all sea animals right now his favorite is the "Dive Olly Dive." This cartoon is soo cute and colorful!
PBS describes "Dive Olly Dive!: Ship Shape Sub" as A "3D-animated DVD for preschoolers that features five episodes, which explores the many interesting facets of ocean life in an entertaining and educational way. With Exciting underwater adventures featured throughout, this lively DVD is a perfect way to cap off a fun-filled day at the beach!"

I won't just let EC watch any cartoon. I'm a bit picky about it. But I highly recommend all three of these cartoons. Honest truth! They're great for all age groups as well.

W/W Beach naps are the best.

We had some family come and visit us at our home turf a few weekends ago. Before this trip they haven't experienced warm beach water. Ahhh... it is pretty AWESOME down here. So naturally we had to spend as much time at the beach as possible, and we did! I wanted to experiment with "Easy" taking his naps at the beach so we can be out there all day. SUCCESS! Two days in the row he fell asleep there. And seriously passed out. 2 hours both days. What a good boy. He did amazing. Glenn's, we had a blast and can't wait for another visit... soon we hope!

NoThrow Review & Giveaway!!!

As a mom and a runner the majority of the time I have to get my workouts in with the boy in the jogging stroller. There's nothing worse then being in the zone, getting a good run in, and then having "Easy" toss his sippy cup in the street! Oh my... that frustrates me. "EC" has always been a thrower. W/W Raging Waters!!!

We recently went to Raging Waters for my Mom's B-Day! My mom loves anything with water so we thought it would be a different thing to do. It was a little crowded, but still very fun. I haven't been since a kid. Easy LOVED it. He jumped right into the pools and was so excited. Because I was worried about my camera I didn't get pictures of the rest of the gang. Naturally I had to get a couple snapshots of the boy. I hope to go back soon before the summer is over.

W/W What a crack up!

Oh my gosh... our lil' boy is becoming such a clown! He has a HUGE sense of humor now and loves to make us laugh. The other day he was laughing so hard that he snorted. He quickly caught on that snorting makes people laugh. We were sitting around my Mom's kitchen table and he put on a show. I crack up every time I watch this. I love how serious he is. The back ground cackles are daddy and grandma. Hilarious.

Wow... I can't believe its a week into August already! Time is flying! What happened to summer? My favorite time of year is almost over already. We spend all year planning for summer around here, and man its been busy. So busy that for the month of September we're really going to try to not travel. We're trying to stay put a little and enjoy this amazing area.
